the Silent Things Your Body Does While You’re Fast Asleep-

Sleep is less like switching off and more like entering a hidden workshop. While your conscious mind steps aside, your body quietly gets to work: repairing tissues, consolidating memories, regulating hormones, and recalibrating your nervous system. Those brief awakenings, position changes, and sudden thoughts at night aren’t always signs that something is wrong; often, they’re simply evidence that your system is still actively caring for you.

Instead of chasing flawless, unbroken sleep, it can be more helpful to focus on creating conditions that support rest. A cooler, darker room, gentler evenings, and a regular bedtime can all make it easier for your body to do what it already knows how to do. Letting go of the pressure to “sleep perfectly” can itself be calming. Sleep isn’t a test you pass or fail—it’s a natural rhythm you can learn to trust.
