The 27-year-old actor, musician, and fashion creative Jaden Smith was in the French capital for Christian Louboutin’s Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Jaden has served as the luxury brand’s men’s creative director since September 2025 and attended the event alongside several members of his family.
Shortly before the show, photographers spotted Jaden stepping out of a vehicle wearing a white T-shirt, low-rise jeans, sneakers, and a chunky silver necklace. What drew the most attention, however, was the fact that he appeared to be walking with his right hand tucked inside the front of his pants while holding hands with a woman using his left hand.
The pair were later seen entering Bar des Prés, the Paris restaurant owned by renowned French chef Cyril Lignac. Jaden held the restaurant door open for his companion before the two disappeared inside.
The woman’s identity was not immediately confirmed, leading to widespread speculation online. Some fans believed she could be a new romantic partner, while others suggested she was Sabrina Zada, Jaden’s former girlfriend.
Jaden and Sabrina were first linked romantically in 2020 and were frequently photographed together over the following years. Reports suggested the pair split in 2024 after Jaden was seen kissing influencer Khleopatre, though they were later photographed together again in 2025, fueling rumors that they had reconciled.
While curiosity surrounded his companion, much of the online conversation focused on Jaden’s posture and body language.
Critics quickly flooded social media with comments describing the behavior as unhygienic and inappropriate, particularly given that he entered a restaurant without removing his hand from inside his trousers.
“And this is a prime example on why you should wash your hands before you eat because you never know if another man touched his balls before he opened the door before you…” one person posted.
Others criticized the style, one person writing, “What’s the point of wearing pants if they’re hanging at your knees tho?”
Not everyone viewed the incident as strange, however. Some pointed out that similar body language has been observed for years and has been analyzed by psychologists and behavioral experts.
Mental health professionals have previously suggested there may be several explanations for why some men frequently place their hands inside their trousers, particularly in relaxed or stressful situations.
Speaking to Vice in 2022, Dublin-based integrative psychotherapist Jo Ryder suggested that social belonging could play a role, explaining that people often unconsciously adopt behaviors that help them identify with a particular group.
Body language specialist Martin Brooks also weighed in on the phenomenon during an interview with The Times in 2025. He argued that the habit can reflect nervous energy, changing social norms, or even a subtle form of rebellion against traditional expectations.
Although Jaden’s latest appearance generated criticism, it also brought renewed attention to the Smith family’s unconventional public image.
