K9 Draco, a beloved 7-year-old Belgian Malinois with the Cocoa Police Department, has died suddenly after collapsing during a routine training exercise.
He was rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital, but sadly, veterinarians were unable to save him.
Since 2022, Draco had stood proudly beside his handler, helping apprehend dangerous suspects and taking drugs and firearms off the streets.
But Draco was so much more than a police dog.
He was a partner. A protector. A loyal friend who never hesitated to put himself in harmβs way to keep others safe.
His sudden passing has left his handler, fellow officers and everyone who knew him heartbroken.
Β Rest peacefully, Draco.
Thank you for your courage, your loyalty and your service. You will never be forgotten.Β ![]()
