Elon Musk may have fathered 14 children, but according to one bold claim, that number could be one higher.
A 40-year-old man from Kenya, Nyakundi Kibiru, recently went viral after alleging that he’s Musk’s firstborn—born from a fling between the Tesla CEO and Kibiru’s mother in the early 1990s. The twist? If Kibiru’s math is correct, Musk would’ve been just 14 at the time.
“I’m the Firstborn”: Kibiru Demands a DNA Test
Kibiru told The Daily Star that his mother met a then-20-year-old Musk while working at a hotel in Kenya’s Masai Mara. He described himself as a “mental health activist” and claimed his mother’s brief encounter with the future billionaire resulted in his birth. Now, he’s asking for a DNA test to prove the connection.
Photos of Kibiru quickly spread online, with many pointing out the supposed physical similarities between him and Musk. From the chiseled jawline to facial features, some were convinced the resemblance was too close to be random.
One person commented, “He really look just like him,” while another wrote, “Spitting image.”
Internet Detectives Step In
Not everyone was convinced. Some skeptics accused Kibiru of using AI to generate his image, pointing out odd details in the photo.
“This is AI, look at the top button on the guy’s shirt,” one person noted. “There is no hole for the button.”
Another asked, “And the chances he would pose like this – with the exact same beard, in front of the most generic corporate blurred background like a model?”
More chimed in with comments like: “AI. As much as I would love to believe it.”
“Nah, gotta be AI. The ears and hairline are too identical.”
Others floated a different theory altogether: maybe Kibiru wasn’t Musk’s son—but his brother.
“Have you considered he could be a brother and not the father? Everybody has a doppelganger somewhere on this planet. It’s just that you haven’t met yours yet.”
The Timeline Doesn’t Add Up
The real kicker? The math simply doesn’t work. If Kibiru is 40, and Musk is currently 54, Musk would’ve been just 14 years old at the time of the supposed fling—a teenager still in high school.
Not only does that completely debunk the story, but it also implies a serious legal problem, as the age of consent in Kenya is 18. So if this story were true, Kibiru would’ve inadvertently accused his mother of breaking the law.
Grok Gets Dragged Into the Drama
As the bizarre claim gained momentum, attention also turned to Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok. The bot was suspended from X—Musk’s own platform—leading some to speculate that the viral photo might’ve been cooked up using Grok itself.
Whether that’s true or not, the suspension added even more conspiracy fuel to the online fire.
For now, Musk’s camp hasn’t commented on Kibiru’s claim—and there’s no indication that any DNA test will be happening.
So is this a case of mistaken identity, an AI hoax, or just someone chasing internet fame? Either way, Musk’s official child count remains unchanged.
