Elon Musk is now expressing regret over some of his recent comments about US President Donald Trump, following a very public and dramatic breakdown in their once-warm relationship, now known online as the ‘divorce of the century’.
The falling out came after Musk, who had previously invested over $260 million in efforts to support Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, began lobbing increasingly sharp criticisms at the Republican leader on social media, Metro reports.
One of the most explosive claims Musk made involved allegations that Trump appears in classified government documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a statement that quickly reignited conspiracy theories and raised potential legal concerns.
Now, Musk appears to be softening his stance, at least somewhat.
“I regret some of my posts about the president this week. They went too far,” Musk wrote in a post on X early this morning. However, he didn’t specify which posts he was referring to.
