Catherine Zeta-Jones and her husband Michael Douglas have arguably one of the happiest marriages in Hollywood – marrying in 2000 and maintaining a loving marriage since then, despite a short separation in 2013.
Though, they’ve proven that not even the strongest of couples can escape the clutches of a celebrity crush…
The 55-year-old Academy Award winner had taken to Instagram to express her support for Argentina, following their nail-biting game against France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The two teams had managed to reach a score of 3 – 3, before battling it out in suspenseful penalty shootouts that saw Lionel Messi’s Argentina take home the coveted World Cup trophy.
Taking to Instagram, Zeta-Jones posted a short clip of the tense finale, with the actress audibly screaming: “OLE OLE OLE!”
“The best match I have ever seen, ever!!! Look, I support Paris Saint Germain, why, one wonders, I love the French, speak it too, my heart goes out to you. But you have to understand, I Love MESSI and the best bit?….my husband is just fine with it […] no need to….so Don’t cry for me or anybody else, Argentina!!!! OLE!!!” she captioned the post.
“What a guy! Doesn’t care about my Messi posters all over the house, like….super cool,” the Welsh actress added in the comments section, referring to Douglas.

In 2022, Zeta-Jones took to Instagram to post a tribute to Douglas, 78, as the pair celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary.
Sharing a photo of them kissing, she wrote: “22 years and 1 day! It’s in the fine details..love you sweetheart. Happy Anniversary.”
She even recently opened up about their 25-year age gap in an interview with The Telegraph, saying: “I’ve been waking up to Mike for nearly 25 years. I love being married but it’s a crazy thing when you really think about it. ‘Will you marry me?’ ‘Sure!’ But then you think about the Chanel purse you spent a fortune on, and actually I don’t really like it anymore – I’ll put it up for resale.
“We were born on the same day, 25 years apart. We’re just very good with one another, we respect each other, and I never really feel that he’s 25 years older than me. I remember people saying, ‘When you’re 50, he’s going to be 75. Well, that’s just maths,” she added.
