Fitness influencer, 30, dies after eating 10,000 calories a day for extreme weight challenge

Fitness influencer Dmitry Nuyanzin tragically died after an extreme weight challenge that involved consuming 10,000 calories a day.

The 30-year-old fitness influencer had more than 43,000 followers on Instagram. To promote his new fitness course, he decided to rapidly gain weight before dramatically losing it again. In order to do so, he consumed almost four times the recommended daily calorie intake for men.

Presenting the challenge, he wrote on Instagram: “Friends! My WEIGHT LOSS COURSE is starting very soon, where you can win awesome prizes and, most importantly, build a beautiful body, learn how to eat well, and enjoy working out! I’ll be losing weight with my students, so it’ll be doubly exciting!”

In a post detailing his journey, he wrote: “I am currently gaining weight for my weight-loss course, and this is my 10,000-calorie diet.

“For breakfast, I have a plate of pastries and half a cake. For lunch, I usually eat 800 grams of dumplings with mayonnaise. During the day, I may snack on crisps, and for dinner, I have a burger and two small pizzas, either at a café or delivered.”

His final Instagram post, uploaded in 2025, showed him posing with a bag of chips, alongside a caption reading: “I wanted it, and I got it!”

Just a little over one month into his project, in November 2025, the Ostorozhno Novosti channel shared news of his death. According to reports, Nuyanzin had been canceling workout appointments because he was not feeling well. He later suffered cardiac arrest while he was sleeping.
