Trump warns ‘everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran’ as president abandons G7 summit early

Former President Donald Trump shocked the world at the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, when he announced he was flying back to Washington a day early amid escalating bombings between Israel and Iran.

As Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and Iran retaliated with rocket attacks – including on Tehran – Trump used the moment to issue a chilling warning to Iranians, per the Daily Mail.

Spotted standing alongside other world leaders during the G7 family photo, Trump left no doubt why he was leaving early: “Well, I have to be back, very important,” he told reporters.

“I just want to thank our great host, Canada. You probably see what I see and I have to be back as soon as I can,” he added. “I’m going to have dinner with these wonderful leaders, and then I get on a plane, I have to be back early.”

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the departure, stating that Trump would “return to Washington tonight so he can attend to many important matters.”

She also pointed out: “He had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer.”

Still, she made clear that because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump had to leave after dinner with Heads of State.

Trump didn’t mince words — and neither did he wait. On Truth Social, he posted: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

He also laid blame on Iran for refusing a nuclear deal: “Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again!”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Fox News that U.S. forces remain positioned “defensively in the region to be strong in pursuit of a peace deal.” He added: “We’re vigilant, prepared, and committed to defending our people and our assets.”

French President Emmanuel Macron hypothesized that a ceasefire might be in the works and credited Trump’s departure to that possibility.

According to Reuters, Macron stated: “There is indeed an offer to meet and exchange. An offer was made especially to get a ceasefire and to then kickstart broader discussion.”

Trump, however, dismissed those claims, firing back on Truth Social after boarding Air Force One: “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘cease fire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong!

“He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!”

Trump’s early departure means missing key G7 events – including a planned bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the Russia war and talks with Mexico’s Claudia Sheinbaum on trade and immigration.

A scheduled press conference also won’t happen.
