A teacher from California has found herself at the center of an online debate after sharing videos showing off her outfits while at school.
The Los Angeles teacher, who goes by the pseudonym Sunshine Jones, has built a following on TikTok where she regularly posts clips featuring her outfit of the day. But what may have started as a bit of fun has now left many viewers divided.
In the videos, she poses in her classroom, showing off colorful and eye-catching outfits while preparing for her students.
But while some people found the videos harmless and entertaining, others felt that the outfits were too distracting for a classroom setting.

One critic reportedly called the trend “absurd,” questioning whether a teacher should be using classroom time and space to showcase her fashion choices.

“This is what “professionalism” looks like now. The adults in charge of forming young minds treating the classroom like a personal content studio,” one user wrote on X, reposting the video. “Then parents wonder why kids come home with zero respect for authority, zero attention span, and completely inverted priorities.”
Another person added, “Schools need to start enforcing proper dress codes on teachers once again. They don’t allow students to wear clothes that are considered distracting, so why are teachers allowed to do so?”
“A classroom is not a place for a teacher’s self expression, it is a place for a teacher to teach, and if they cant figure that out then they shouldn’t be a teacher,” a third said.
